Write for us

Global Civic Journal welcomes carefully argued contributions about participation, representation, institutions, public space and civic customs. Send proposals through the Contact page; an idea is welcome before a full draft is prepared.

What to propose

Pitch an original article that helps a general reader understand a civic practice, distinction or question. We welcome explanatory essays, comparisons, thoughtful histories and place-aware accounts that make their scope clear and do not treat one local arrangement as the rule everywhere.

A useful pitch

Tell us the central question, the point you would make and why it belongs with Global Civic Journal. Include a brief outline, the likely reader and any relevant sources or expertise. Avoid pitches built around unsupported claims, campaigning copy or material already published elsewhere.

Sending and review

Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A proposal is not a commission, and publication is not guaranteed. Please do not send confidential information or assume that a submission is under consideration until the desk responds.
